I see Larry’s point of view. Its not that Alan Alda is not a Republican. It is that Alan Alda takes a political stance against Republicans. Could he keep his personal bias out of it? What about the writers. I bet most Hollywood writers are Democrats. Could they keep their personal bias out of the script?
How would you like a Republican Actor to play Bill Clinton in some movie? The only Republican actor, that is alive, that I can think of, is Arnold. (Actually that would be kind of funny seeing Arnold playing Clinton. I can picture him with that Austrian accent saying “Monica, would you like a cigar? I’ll be back.â€) How would you like Rush Limbaugh to write the script for the Bill Clinton movie? I would hope not, because there would be no way that man could leave his personal bias out of it.
Anyway, its not that they are not who they are pretending to be, that what actors do. Its that they have a personal bias against what they are playing. Same with the writers. It would be like one of these people who say “Why do we waste money on Space when we could feed the Homeless†writing Apollo 13.

- If that is all you got from his performance, then that is very sad...
- Sad
- The Archie Bunker character was a simple minded bigot...
