i.e. your "belief that al Qaeda will stop being a threat when we leave Iraq "
And if you stop the know it all condescending schtick you're more likely to get a civil argument.
If you've been paying attention at all, you would know that I largely agree with you - at least the part after "policemen"....
So....when will the Iraqis be able to deal with it?
Are you with the "we'll be there forever and a day" Bush camp, or the "Maybe they do need a kick up the butt" Gates camp?
As Bowser has repeatedly pointed out, we've had an awful lot of trained forces ready , oh at least back to mid 2004 if the admin was to be believed.
This is where I am starting to lean over to the pull-out side. It's taking too damn long. Maybe as Gates implied, if we act like we're getting ready to pull up sticks, there may be some increase on political and military movement on the Iraq side.
P.S. Allow me to reverse paraphrase you.
Republicans call killing as many terrorists as they can "winning the war on terror", as though there will be nobody to take their place. That my friend, is real delusion.
