But the old testament DOES condone things that we would find abhorrent and immoral- Try reading Mark Twain's "Letters From the Earth" - one bit I remember vividly is where he takes a story from the old testament, but he sets it in 19th century New York- one city attacks another city and slays all the men, and takes the women and children into slavery- If you force me I will look it up, I have in the past...
