Science should only be influenced by science...

I have known physicists that honestly believed in a 6000 year Earth, but they are VERY rare- I dont know how they can exist, but they do- I guess they have to compartmentalize their intellect... I guess they have to assume god planted all this evidence to test our faith, but that is a pretty evil god if thats the god you worship.

I have known MANY religious scientists- and I have no problem with a scientist being religious at all.... but they, almost all of them, understood that science and religion are different, and seperate things.... the only way that the two mixed for most of them is that they believed that studying the universe was the highest form of worshiping god- and I can respect that. Do you think an actual god would respect people that mumble praises and go to church once a week, or do you think that god would respect people that devote their lives to understanding god's creation? What makes more sense?

It is when a religion, or an ideology, tries to use science to support their views that real trouble begins. Intelligent design, NAZI eugenics, social darwinism, on and on....

As for Johannes' website, we both know that it is so full of factual and conceptual errors that a book could be written on them....
