That is why I say we are important. 99.999999999 (etc)% of the matter in this universe is not self aware. There are billions of lifeless worlds that look the same. Earths are rare, and intelligent life even rarer.
We, self-aware matter, is a rare thing in the universe, and I think that makes us important.
For someone who doesn’t agree, I say find me a rock that can build a telescope and admire the universe.
