It's easy to say what you might do if the Iron Heel comes crashing down, but the reality of that horror, and how we might react to it, is difficult for Americans to comprehend. Che said "Revolutionaries win, or die", and he experienced both sides of the same coin. It would be presumptious to say how anyone, particularly someone with a family, would choose to react to a brutal dictatorship, and experience has shown us that in spite of the occasional heroes, most people just go along. And I cannot judge them too harshly.
I base my opinions on what I know happened in Cuba. It was totally unexpected and it happened to a people who had already demonstrated their courage and resilience. I don't think it will ever happen here, but it can never be ruled out anywhere. And when it comes it is always a surprise. Out of chaos comes totalitarianism, not anarchy.
