I did read the links....

and I have no problem with experimentation in this area. I am just a bit cynical about it and I tend be ambivalent about all laws, whether they permit or prohibit. My ideal world would have very few laws of any kind.

We are a nation of laws, not people, because we are not very nice people.

Alcohol and tobacco are legal and prohibition failed but the universal availability of A&T are arguably worse than illegal drugs.

While I did my share of experimentation early on, I have never quite understood why adults resort to prostitutes, pornography, or even strippers. The idea that a governor of NY would involve himself with such is unfathomable to me.

I could also argue that the ultimate way to solve the prostitution "problem" would be to fundamentaly change our atitude toward sex through a sex education program for teens that would include sexual surrogates of both sexes. Would this allow us to arrivie at a mind set that sex is natural and should be as available to all as readily as masturbation?

This might eliminate sexual jealousy and the need for prostitution as we know it. Maybe this would reduce sex crimes resulting from the hangups that create a demand for the seamy side of sex. The problem for me is that I find this sex education idea extremely distasteful, due to ingrained hangups of my own. :)

Bottom line is, we need to change fundamentally to solve our problems. Ninty percent of all laws would be unneccessary if we were nicer.
