Actually, I do not own a gun and probably never will. I bet I am the only native Texan who does not own a gun. I wasn’t being totally serious with that comment, rather making jest of a new country song out about that very subject (Am I the only one who listen to county around here?)
I’ll admit I feel more protective of my daughter than my son. I don’t worry about him dating like I do her (he’s 9 and she is 6 and I am already thinking about these things). I know it is a doubled standard, but I don’t care. The funny thing is, my wife worries more about young hussies going after her son than guys going after her daughter.
My daughter is a tough little girl. She has already beaten up a boy who called her a “Stupid girl.†This boy is three years older than her. I hope she takes after her mother’s 6’2: height. One thing I have noticed about being married to a woman that is 6 inches taller than me is how intimidating most men find tall women. She once confronted a man hitting his wife and made him back down.
I’ll admit she has me wrapped around her little finger, but I am very protective of my little girl, and I will be until my last breath.
