In the garbbled post below, I responded.

No time period was perfect (what is), but imagine if we still had some of that optimism and can do attitude from the first half of the 20th Century. Our jaded and perverse culture today is not conducive to a great society, IMO.

If you want to tie me down to one period, I guess from 1946-1964. The period wasn't perfect, but overall, the zeitgeist was conducive to a nice society.
