If you make it difficult for boys to come into the house, they will meet elsewhere. Girls are generally smarter than their fathers. Really.

He must come into the house, though, and you make sure you have a bowl of chips and some soda so you can chat him up while she's putting the finishing touches on her makeup. Ask him about himself. He'll know you know who he is that way. If he's a creep, he'll give himself away soon enough.

Better than cleaning your gun, teach her to shoot. Girls with good relationships with their fathers, whose fathers think enough of them to spend substantial time with them, are more likely to have a good enough opinion of themselves to resist pressure to have sex. If they're valued by an important man for being who they are, they will be more apt to understand their own value. That's not to say a girl will never have sex as a teen if she knows her father cares about her, but it does mean that she'll respect herself enough to do it for better reasons than buying a boy's affection.

When it comes to girls, and to women, time is the most valuable thing you can give them.
