I got it

a very long time ago.

Let's be blunt about it. When the hormone hurricane hits in the teens, a lot of people 'just do it'.

The folks who preach abstinence only, or no mention of it at all are deluding themselves.

Kids are going too, end of discussion, period, thank you very much, have a nice day. While I firmly believe it's a parent's job to have The Talk with their children, preferrably when they hit puberty. Many don't for any number of reasons.

They have to learn it somewhere, hopefully not in the back seat of their cousin's car parked in the alley. Or worse, at the Clinic when the Doctor tells them they have something that is going to kill them, slowly, horribly.

As for Legalised Sex workers, I agree, and don't.

It's a Profession that will never go away. We need some kind of control over it. So make it legal, with all the controls.

But I still see it as something that troubles me. It borders on slavery. A sign of Western Culture, in many cultures it was considered a Craft as much as Metalsmithy, Woodwork, potter. Prostitutes were an accepted part of society.

In my view, admittedly as a man, it must be a choice, not a last resort.
