So in your opinion nobody's allowed to get angry at some tiny subset of our society because you share a human characteristic with them and by that stretch of logic, you are targeted as well and should be defensive about it? Might as well get into that defensive position Jody because I despise the Nazi's and you might have some German blood flowing through your veins. I do. Maybe I hate myself.

For a lesson on communications skills why don't you look at how REB and I worked it out. Even though I believe he overreacted a bit to my original post as I'm sure he felt I overstated my contentions, we leave this conversation retaining the respect we have for one another. He is able to express his beliefs and convictions without me feeling preached to. He states them in a way where he's sharing the joy he's found and never seems to care whether I embrace those ideals. I have no desire to turn him into an atheist. The most I hope for is that the two of us can reach across the aisle when some holier than thou idiot goes trotting out radical ideals that tend to alienate human beings and together we shine the spotlight on them and let people know that they don't speak for either rational atheist or spiritual human beings.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if a chorus of outrage came from the Muslim community when some act of terror is done in the name of that religion? The vast majority of them don't believe in violence to propel their beliefs and yet the silence is overwhelming when something like that happens. So although some dumb website about prayer may not rise to the level of suicide bombings, perhaps people of Christian faith shouldn't be so sensitive when someone ridicules it and gets frustrated with the gullibility of human beings when things get taken to such an extreme.

Let's face it Jody, you and I are polar opposites on most issues and certainly on temperament. I have limited time to engage in online posts and even though in real life I'd be much kinder and gentler to you knowing how personally you take things, I simply don't have the time or the energy to do that on here. You've got a picture of me as some sort of heavy that's picked on you and it sounds like you won't ever get over it. Oh well. That one isn't my burden. I could spend time trying to mend bridges but eventually my honesty and passion in some area counter to your philosophy would just piss you off again and what's so funny is that I really don't care anymore what you believe or what information you ingest. Maybe that's what's upsetting to you.
