You have it backwards.
Obama, and those like him, prosper at the expense of those who go out and create the wealth at the upper end of the income scale.
The "progressive" Great Social Experiment rides on the backs of those the progressives continuously spit on. The rich pay for almost all of the "good works" that the politicians get the credit for.
This is just one of the inherent perceptual chasms in the foundation of liberalism.
