"Religion requires we never ask questions like this. It is presumptuous to think you can know the mind of a god." Now, that is just bullshit, IMO. Some religious LEADERS require we never ask questions. Those people are not spiritual leaders (I dealt with this in my humility thread); they are assholes who want to control, control, control. If a religious leader ever said those words to me, I'd spit in his or her face. God doesn't mind our questions.

1 Cor 12: Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb [speechless] idols, even as ye were led.
