I was actually surprised by your posts here and had to check your signature to make sure it was you. We've fallen into a hole that we may never climb out of. Somehow, somewhere, while we weren't looking, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer at the expense of the greediest con men and corporations. The war on Iraq only furthered our separation and stopped us from tackling the issues at home, as nationalism let loose the Ugly American.
We, as a nation and a species have truly become as a blight on this earth, and this thing is snowballing. I'm not so sure the US won't end up as a third world country within the next decade.
Our food supplies will dwindle, and we'll be choking our planet with plastics and pollution.
There is no way to stop the great divide here in social classes and pretty soon our crime rates will empower the poor who wil be fighting to survive and wearing Rolex watches and driving a Lexus could be dangerous to your health. Frankly, I don't see any type of recovery, at least for the lower middle class and the poor. Maybe even the middle class will end up in this struggle, as we are seeing now because they lost their retirements and their investments in the lastest financial con games.
