Eventually makes the progress happen.
Name one invention created by the government.
Name one disease cured by the government.
Our quality of life is owed to people forming businesses and creating things and wealth. THe more complex the society, the more advanced the machines and things created and the greater the 'wealth'.
A planet with a world government has no wealth and the QOL goes into the toilet.
And as for the top corrupt business leaders - yes they exist. Yes they destroy portions of wealth in attempt to enrich themselves. But even their most destructive acts, never impoverish the masses so long as the businesses are not propped by the guns of the government.
Places like wal-mart have shifted trillions of dollars overseas at the expense of US citizens. Thousands of businesses have followed suit.
The truth is the US has gotten poorer so the rest of the world can get richer. China, India and Mexico have been sustained and enriched on a steady transfusion of US wealth.
So if you are a poppist like George Soros, the Wal-Marts and outsourcing and illegal aliens taking work are only good things. "Spread the wealth to foreign nations" is their motto. Their idea is that a hundred years from now these nations will be the equal of the US and the US will no longer need to outsource, nor will it profit by outsourcing. That's little consolation for the 300 million Americans working for less and watching their inheritance flushed away to the third world. But in a world where anyone "trying to better themselves" (i.e. illegals) has an immediate moral (leftist society endorsed) claim to your money - get used to it.
Americans are dumb and getting dumber. There are many easy places to point the finger for this, but that is grist for another post. Until the Americans wise up and pull out the IV draining their life blood, the future of America looks very bleak.
America can come back if it becomes an industrial nation again - if it keeps down the service and paper pushing route it is utterly doomed.
