Many things we will never know will we?

Many things we will never know will we?

Does the FDA protect people from bad drugs? Really? Or do MILLIONS take them without thinking simply because the FDA hasn't banned them?

If there were no FDA millions would be far more careful about the drugs they put into their bodies. The FDA while ostensibly here to weed out the bad and unsafe food & drugs, acts more as a comforting panacea for doctors to prescribe the latest poisons for several years until the body count builds up. My doctor works 10-4:30 three days a week and for 3 hours of those two days is primarily there to receive pharmaceutical reps.

The FDA is largely a false protector. Like an fire alarm system that only kicks in after a one room is completely consumed, it's protection only works against the MOST dangerous drugs.

The Dept of Agriculture is corrupt and lets E.Coli and unsanitary conditions thrive in many of our cattle and poultry farms. It's inspection regimen is farcical and its role in permitting sick animals to be super-dosed with pharmaceutical threatens to doom humanity with incurable food-borne plagues at almost any time.

We will never know if market conditions would have shut down the bad farmers and bad pharmaceutical companies will we?

We will never know if, by pushing the burden of our own protection on a corrupt and incompetent government, we have helped the bad guys proliferate and prosper and feel ever SAFER in their crimes, negligence and bad practices.

If you're a bad guy today, all you need to do is hire a lobbyist and get the government to protect you. A legal bribery system is in place and both parties are corrupt up to their eyeballs.

The answer is not a GOP congress and President or a Democratic one. It's REDUCING the power these folks have over these industries.

The threat of LAWYERS and LAWSUITS is more than enough to shut down the bad guys and put them out of business or get them to clean up their acts. Federal agencies act against the public good when they are so easily corrupted and bought off.

The heads of the FDA regularly go off to work at a pharmaceutical after their terms are up. They seek positions in the FDA so they CAN be bought off and find a secure position after they "green light" the bad guys new drugs. The FDA is loaded with the same bad guys you find in the worst pharmaceutical companies.

But there are tons more examples. The Department of Education, the Dept of the Interior, The Dept. of Agriculture, the Dept. of Transportation, the Dept. of Energy....and on and on it goes.

MORALITY is the answer. We need more people who care about these things. We need more shouting about corruption and putting pressure on bad guys in both the private and public sector. We need to raise our kids to care, to not take the easy way out or to become die-hard materialists for whom nothing is more important than getting your slice of the pie.

In short, we need a certain spirituality that has been lost. I'm not a proponent of religion, especially those that sell forgiveness for a price and keep the people from truly improving themselves, but at this time our nation needs something - some new way of teaching something like 'spirituality' or perhaps just simple human ethics.

As the materialistic "anything goes" snowball builds momentum with our young, it threatens to bring an entire avalanche down upon the existing moral framework our nation has shed blood and tears for over 200 years to create.

It's not either/or. We don't need to wipe the good the government provides away. What we need to do is seriously re-evaluate ALL the agencies and safeguards in place and see what needs to go and what needs to stay. The fox is guarding so many hen houses, they are now indiscernable from the farmers.
