Tom, love yah, but yer full of it...
"Anyone who says there is no evidence to back up the assertion that most of the current environmental leadership is not solidly leftist and anti-capitalist "
Okay, lets stipulate that their leadership is solidly so- not that I think it is, but lets grant you your point.
Does that lead to the statement "80% of the entire environmental movement"?
You might include me in that 'movement', but last I checked I was not for an "ultra-rigid central authority for human economic activity". I think tech, and new markets will positively BOOM if the right incentives are offered (and the environmental movement and the common citizen should participate offering those incentives!). Environmentalist market shaping (purchasing pressure, investment, incentives etc) can be a major source of wealth.
Look, there is NOTHING inherent about changing our entropy cycle from Hydrocarbon to some other source that WILL DEFINATELY cause poverty or a slow down in growth. People are smart, we can find a way. It ain't like its rocket science...
The point is that your original statement was full of crap and you know it.
Face it Tom, you made an arbitrary blanket statement about a population with no support or facts. Fess up, Mr. IReadLotsAndLotsSoImNoDummyAndIKnowMyStuffSoISpeakWithAuthority....
