Did I say Lindy was right? Or Robert? No. All I said was that was an example of feedback from any off equilibrium energy expression. Lindy gets her feedback aplenty on these boards when she makes some of her posts. Robert, too, has received his share of criticism.
You can be part of someone else's negative feedback and still be wrong. We all can. Each time I go overbaord and demonize the left in any substantial manner without putting my comments in perspective I attract the feedback of that. I have watched it occur too many times to count. As a result I try to keep closer to equilibrium and not let any post or group rile me too much. I'm by no means perfect in this regard, but I have made marked improvement. When I do slip, I can almost calculate the response. My baiting of MA, Tony and Davin was just one example. I knew they were not Cuba-lovers but I couldn't resist targeting them for some of their views. Result? Seven-fold negative feedback.
We shouldn't be worried about avenging perceived injustices to ourselves. We should be analyzing why we harmonically attracted the attack in the first place. If you want a principle - that's a key one. Each experience we encounter is a two-way street, an interfacing of BOTH our consciousness and the external world. When we experience hostility it is only because we, too, are or have been hostile and set up a harmonic affiliation with that type of experience. All the petty little day-to-day difficulties all are the result of our own past actions and the environment we place ourselves in. In other words if we go out in the rain, we shouldn't be surprised and shocked when we get wet. If we engage in name-calling, we shouldn't be shocked when others call us names.
Todd's little flame there is another example. The further off equilibrium one is - those higher amplitude distorted wave motions will incur that much more distorted feedback. No gods are required to dish out this perceived "retribution" - all of it is done automatically by the fundamental nature of the universe.
That is why I am never really focused on comeuppances for societies worst offenders, because such feedback is inescapable. The may appear to be a time delay between the initial act and the feedback - but if you watch for it, it always comes. That's why Jesus said "turn the other cheek" - he knew there was no point in incurring feedback for oneself as one tries to do what the infinite universe does automatically - right wrongs.
This doesn't mean one becomes a fatalist and sits and lets people punch you though. It simply means your reactions should be as close to emotional equilibrium as possible and never to act out of hate or revenge. Our response to 9-11 was a good example of restraining and suppressing the animalistic desire to instantly lash out - and instead gather evidence and chart a course of intelligent action. The best and longest surviving soldiers are not the one's who are driven by hate, but who can fight without hatred and a more rational understanding of the need to restrain certain violent factions. This equilibrium is not a bullet proof shield and certain amount of feedback is inevitable - but it is closer to equilibrium and will not receive the same response as the "hatred" feedback.
Hopefully, I have made my principles clearer here. It's less about perceived absolute rights and wrongs (which will be relative, subjective and will change their positions over time) and more about energy, feedback and amplitudes which will occur to everyone at whatever their evolutionary position may currently be.
