Good approach - bad books

I like the approach and some of the principles, but not sure I buy all of it it without further cogitation.

Rand was not required reading in any school I attended maybe that's a California thing. I read Atlas Shrugged of my own free will (thanks for the memory jog) and some other book by Rand. Now that you mention it, I did find it a page turner in parts, but really disliked the ending although since I don't recall much beyond the basic society in decay plot (smart girl, three smart guys, asshole brother and cronies) I can't remember why. The other book was about some rube in a nightmare socialist society starting to think for himself. I found the story boring because the society pictured was too unlikely to engage me in the story. I think the good parts of the first made me willing to give her a second shot despite my disatisfaction with the end of AS but the latter just killed any further interest.

see ya
