The Right's spin on the Mathews-Malkin incident seems to depend on the assumption that few people actually saw the interview. Guess what: Through pure random luck, I saw it, and I'm here to say that you're full of shit, Ed.

I watched the Asian Ann Coulter try to weasel in the accusation that Kerry shot himself to get the Purple Heart, I saw Mathews call her on it and demand that she either take a stand, yes or no, or shut up; and I saw Malkin continue to try and sleaze her way out of it, trying to shout down Mathews, until her face was contorted in that rictus of hatred that's the trademark of the rightwing fanatic and she lost the gift of speech and devolved to apoplectic sputtering.

Malkin got her ass royally kicked, and she royally earned it. I cheered Mathews from my couch.
