LOL! (I call for a vote)
Let's make bashing blogs and bloggers an official policy at the HZ.
Might as well say...
the HZ is a collection of folks who are massively insecure and don't have much to say. We resent bloggers and the blogosphere because it reminds us of that.
Bashing the entire blogosphere is beyond stupid. I understand the intent to flame me is beyond all possible resistance and MA can't resist, but I'm not the only person with a blog and incorporating it into the user guide is typical knee-jerk reactionary response, classic anti-SDAI garbage.
Maybe because the bloggers caught CBS in a lie they are the new targets of the left. That makes bloggers doubly evil in the eyes of the left here. I remember way back when... Keith Cowing said this place wasn't ready for prime time. Seeing you adopt Mary Anne's quotes as a part of the user guide, I can see I was wrong in disagreeing with him.
Mary Anne's statement is a farce. It says she is so wonderful and all-knowing, yet oh so very humble (not!) , that she knows bloggers are all just full of themselves. It's wholescale bashing of hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of folks. It's truly insane.
That sentiment certainly doesn't reflect my beliefs and I doubt If Tom, Gary, Larry, etcetera share this view of bloggers and the blogosphere. I'd like to call a vote on the inclusion of that bit of classic MA hyperbole before more damage to the HZ is done.
And if it ends up that that's truly what the HZ stands for--an anti-bloggist platform--then Keith was right and I was wrong and I'll owe Keith a long overdue apology.
