About several things!

Beth encountered Dr. Who in 1985, when she was 4, so that doesn't quite work for me as an indicator. :)

I will need to read up on women in Australia. I knew that the macho male image was very much in ascendence, but sometimes that can go along with strong women who can tell the macho honcho to go take a flying leap.

If this isn't the case, I can understand you meeting angry women ready to take it out on anyone with a Y chromosome. Paybacks are a bitch, though not always for the ones who have it coming...
