"Fooling around" and "all this time"; why, someone might be lead to believe that I'm some kind of dorky party animal.

Er...speaking as one who was in the room as she sent that last reply to you, I feel I can safely say that she wasn't trying to be insulting.

As she typed it, we were speaking of the tendency to misread tone (especially on the internet), and the misunderstandings that it creates. Perhaps it would help if I asked you to imagine her speaking those words in a warm, curious, reconsidering tone?
