I have quietly considered the way MA is treated here by some as msogynistic for awhile. This goes for some folks on the left as well as some folks on the right.
That a person holding their ground and arguing well is a woman is irrelevant in any case, both as a positive note and certainly as a negative note. Sorry, but even mentioning the facts about their anatomy in a non-sexual, intelectual and public conversation is just not something that should be done IMHO. That MA holds her ground and has a vagina is just as relevant as, say, alcary having a penis as well as an opinion.
The case is confused by the fact that MA has earned respect from many, and that with many that respect is genuine. But with no small few, the bulk of the respect stems form the awareness that MA is a woman- and that, despite its good intention, I find to be offensive. But thats just me.
Ultimately, IMHO, the person in question (Male, female, white, not-white, whatever) is the final arbiter of how they should be addressed. Some folks have a high tolerance for others behavior and a thick skin, others don't. But in my two cents, if anyone treats anyone else differently because of gender (outside of those few cases where gender really does lead to real differences), or associates gender with intellect, then that person is at least leaving the door open for insult to be taken.
