Sounds fine to me, Robert. Like I said, I'm really just cashing in some hard-earned credits in the rhetorical wars. If I don't use 'em, I lose 'em...and then all the bruises and bleeding and suffering will have been in vain. I have to gloat a little, I'm only human.
Whatever one thinks of Bush, the reality is that he's history. Still in office, but he'll be the lamest of lame ducks. Obviously I think that's a good deal, on balance, but I expect you'll be disappointed that your wishlist of good things he could still do won't happen. But the silver lining is that what you want is reasonable, and when somebody with more political capital takes over, we'll likely see more attention paid to petroleum dependency and education and fiscal responsibility and, I sure hope, NASA. I"m not an immigration hawk, but that's a debate for another time. In any case, I'm just trying to point to rays of hope for everybody in the political situation. After the last six years, it's nice to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
It's not yet dawn in America, but the I'm sure the eastern sky is getting lighter.
