I was embarrassed for you

...and didn't want to make it worse by drawing attention to your insane ranting.

Your palpable rage is having a negative impact on your writing abilty, and it's hard to distinguish the nature of the wild hair up your ass. Near as I can sort it out, you're pissed because your point of view isn't prevailing; and even crazier, you seem to think that the moderators have a duty to take your side and enforce your version of "truth".

There's no truth in politics, and the most fundamental sign of an extremist is the insistence that there is...and of course, it's always your truth. I know, you'll stridently protest that you're not an extremist, but that truth is written all over this thread. Do you ever go back and read your own words?

There are about 50-70 people around the Zone, and not all of them are "liberalxxxx" (whatever the hell that means; was the "xxxx" the result of a petit mal seizure provoked by typing the letters "liberal"?). I don't see anybody, left or right, agreeing with you. I can't rule out the possibility that one or more of the most dogmatic Conservatives might sympathize with you, but if so, safe to say even they don't want to be associated with your obvious psychosis.

It's likely, too, that most Conservatives have enough common sense to not go down the path of trying to find mistaken predictions from the other side. Not against the background of the closest thing we have to truth: Conservatives, yourself included, were enthusiastically, jingoistically, 110% behind Bush's war on Iraq. So violently so, in fact, that you had the unmitigated gall to accuse critics of the war of "treason!" and call them traitors.

Events have proven that you were wrong, Mae, wrong, wrong, horribly wrong. You have much to answer for, starting with the vicious shrieks of "treason!". You want to maintain at this late date that I committed treason by questioning the Bush Regime's rosy scenarios? You want to maintain that I was a traitor to scoff at the notion that the biggest challenge we faced would have been sweeping up the flowers showered on our troops? Or to question the lack of planning for the postwar period?

You want some constructive engagement? Start with an apology, and then maybe we can talk. Until then, I don't consider you worth any more of my time.
