I'm really, really good at communication. I can figure out through an exchange of no more than four questions whether a nine-year-old who asks me about tsunamis really wants to know about tsunamis, or about surfing, or about Thailand, or about what killed the dinosaurs.
What you communicated was precisely what alcaray saw, which I know, because I saw it too.
Whether that's what you intended is beside the point. Language exists because mindreading doesn't work. Imprecise or incorrect use of language leads to people drawing unintended conclusions. Blaming the receivers because the transmission is faulty doesn't get to the root of the problem.
If you don't want people to think you're calling them dishonest, then don't use the words. If you insist on using the words, don't turn around and say you didn't, or claim that your perception of what you said is correct because it's your perception.

I saw the same thing alcaray saw.
