You know someone someday...
Is going to deposit a teakettle somewhere in interplanetary space,
just to freak people out. :^) Maybe that's what all those objects
circling Epsilon Eridani really are.
A discussion on HZ Space not too long ago talked about the possibility
of any ETI visiting our Sol system via starship might have to leave
behind the drive section that helped brake them into our system in order
to reduce ship weight for when they have to leave. So maybe something like that is floating around the Kuiper Belt or Saturn's rings where they went to refuel.
Or a Monolith. Or their trash. Or all three.
Yet another reason to support space exploration.
