I think there's not much purpose in debating religion with...

...someone who requires logical proof.

One thing I will say is that I think it is destructive for people to push science and logic forward as the natural enemies of religion. I believe they are perfectly compatible (I even have empirical evidence!).

One should not be ashamed of one's faith, whether one is a scientist or not.
