I don't know who you were listening to

but the people I was reading and watching who were opposing the war were never making out the bad guys to be anything other than despicable human beings.

However Mark, the distinction was, no matter how heinous Saddam was or Al Quaeda (in Iraq) or Al-Sadr were, we as a nation were never threatened by them and that has to be the threshold for us to invade a country. There's no gray area here Mark. This was in international law the equivalent of a war crime to preemptively invade a country we thought might bring us harm in the future regardless of how much evidence might have been found that they had bad weapons or nasty terrorists in their midst.

We were led to war with cooked intelligence. The evidence is overwhelming in that case and that should be a treasonable or at the least impeachable offense.

I am not saying that the majority of Americans that went along with what our leadership told them we had to do were guilty of the same level of malfeasance. We have a right to leadership that doesn't mislead us and it's understandable for people to assume the President and his staff are working in our best interest. But it didn't take long for the clues to start coming in droves that something was seriously wrong in the bill of goods we were presented with.

You are attempting to rewrite that secondary period and that's where most of the outrage arose.
