Well I'm not a conservative, but Rush is a drug using self promoter in my book not a deep thinking moral leader. As much as I dislike Newt's tactics, I do believe he was a thinker that cared primarily about his cause. The Republican's are really bankrupt in moral authority if they allow the likes of Rush to lead. Not that there's much left though given their abandonment of term limits and fiscal responsibility, embracement of pay for play, and denial that their policies have failed to deliver as promised while creating a growing income disparity through falling MC wages and ballooning executive pay.

In addition, their hands off approach to regulation has lead to merger after merger and giant corporations "too big to fail". An entirely different Roosevelt from the Republican party would be turning over in his grave.
