Plenty of lies on the left too. I happen to agree with the left's goals about 60 to 70 % of the time (escpecially on the environment and telling the religious conservatives to stay out of other people's private matters) and the creationist pushing - antiscience stance of a large part of the Republican party really annoys me. However, I will call out either side any time for gross distortions of the truth or incompetance like my recent posts against Republican economic policies. I have seen plenty of reason for Tom to be frustrated by the left and visa versa. It is not a one way street no matter how many lefties raise their hands here and claim it is. Fairness comes from a strong sense of right and wrong and treating others as you want them to treat yourself not a show of hands. Lynch mobs were a strong show of hands too.

Arguing with Tom can be like hitting your head on a brick wall but I've felt that way with both sides and can say absolutely that I trust Tom's honesty in debate over a lot of the liberals here who say things so ridiculous that I feel they are just playing games rather than trying to bridge ideas or understand others. I understand your frustration in trying to make a point only to be met with a new tweak on old data, but at least he is far more willing to show up with data than most here. I'm a data guy and can honestly say Tom works at it harder than me. It's easier to take pot shots at his data than find a counter set.
