The type of capitalism you favor hasn't existed since the Gilded Age. Its systematic dismantling began with Roosevelt (Theodore, not Franklin!) about a century ago. Even as a conservative child of privilege of that era, he realized the system was hopelessly corrupt and decadent. Not only that, it was a brutal and cruel regime that cried out for reform, and its slow evolution into what we have now is the cause of the almost uninterrupted growth in prosperity that ocurred throughout the twentieth century.
I know there is no way you or the conservatives of this country will ever accept this, but what you think doesn't matter. If you want to turn the clock back to that time, you're going to have to convince the rest of us we're mistaken. Don't hold your breath.
