This board is massively right-leaning in its politics. A substantial portion of the posts drone on and on and on about "I can't believe these liberals" and "dumb things the left said today" or "those blabity-blah-blah stalinists" and [...] Its like a cliche on a CD with a skip on it. The mobius board of political masturbation...

It gets tiring. Boring. pointless. Every now and then I roll up my sleeves and wade in- usually to be greeted by a fusillade of personal attacks and more shitte than a gorilla can hurl. Its not like I really care that much, but whats the point? Really, in the end, why should I waste my time?

Its as laughable as a bunch of animals in the zoo mocking the humans behind the bars, slapping eachother on the backs and bragging that they put those hairless apes in their place...

You seem to actually believe that this is some sort of tactic that we insidious lefties are using on you poor beset right wingers, or that we are off licking our wounds, feeling sorry for ourselves, and concocting our next 'move'.

In my brief tour of membership, I went from a dozen posts per day to maybe one or two... Fact is, I get really fed up with the absurd politics of SOME of this community. If I have been here all of two-or-three months, then I can see how completely exhausted the left-leaning folks who have been posting here for years must be.

Unlike Tom B, I think the point of political discourse IS to change minds and have your mind changed- otherwise you are just indulging in mantra-like chanting exercises. No minds change here, so whats the point? Worse, the additude here is that any liberal is a personally defective individual and that somehow it is legitimate to get personal with them right off the bat.

So yeah, I'll probably end up dropping out like the other liberals, probably to come back from time to time. I'm not gone yet... I still leave this in the back-ground at work... and there is always the space board.

So, if you are feeling lonely LowTech, just invent another fake liberal pseudonym/Strawman like Scott does and go post two-dimensional puppets of liberal positions. Won't that be good fun? Hmmm?
