We can spell out the completely unrecognized, unintended moral vacuity of the left in general and how all the liberal rhetoric falls flat and runs out of steam when it goes up against any educated conservative viewpoints.
If you end up bailing out like Bowser apparently has and the many who flee these boards out of frustration, it is not our fault - but really the fault of yourself or those who flee.
Endless jokes about Tom's repetitive dissertations really miss the point. It's not a mantra - it is logic mercilessly applied without emotion clogging up the viewpoints. I know that Tom would change his views if confronted with the logic and evidence as to why they should be changed. So far I have yet to be proffered that jewel of wisdom that illustrates the leftist policies or socialism in any form is really a better way.
There are two types of conservatives - conservatives who know liberalism is wrong by their "gut" feel but whom could no more articulate it than they could spend $5.75 for a custom latte at Starbucks. Then there are the very rare few who can articulate it - and god help all those who come against them. And even the ones who are out there defending conservative views, such as Limbaugh and Coulter, have their own sets of limitations as well.
I think this board is probably has some of the most well-spoken conservatives on the web. I have yet to encounter the sheer depth of issues and knowledge of history that comes up in these debates.
Sure, everyone may feel free to leave, but if anything it just proves conservative viewpoints are unassailable.
Is that what you reall want to admit?

Without sounding like Spock - emotion is not an intelligent decision maker. Sympathy is emotion based, whereas compassion is a bit more balanced. Liberals are heartfelt people but they have yet to really see where their emotions originate and if they might be better served by discarding the ranting and raving.
The hair-pulling, screaming mourners of the middle east and India are not exactly the best role model for intelligent decision making processes.
Look at et - his emotion ran unchecked and he let his sympathy for civilians killed turn into hate for those who support the war. Just like a Palestinian who has lost a loved one turns grief into hate and then goes out to blow up themselves in a cafe.
While that is an extreme example, the principle is exactly the same. Emotion means imbalance - an imbalance means there is a flaw within one's own consciousness that collects waveforms which are also imbalanced. Each hateful thought, each contemptuous outburst against the conservatives or Bush has a negative bias. These build up and demand release.
For most escape mechanisms help release these imbalanced emotions and thoughts. Some turn to TV & movies other to drinks & bars, others yet to Taco Bell and a Bell Grande Macho burrito.
I turn inward and like a surgeon I pinpoint the original flaw in my consciousness that has been revealed by emotion. Yes, emotion reveals holes in our understanding.
I then take this flaw and add information to it. If it contempt of the self-serving politics of a Chirac or Schroeder - I tear into the originating bias - in this case the dislike to an extreme of self-serving at the expense of others.
I know then that this must exist within me (mirror principle) and my dislikes are pointing towards the self-serving actions I have taken in this life and how I have made moves at the expense of others. By realizing that I am only contemptuous of what lies within myself, I make a vow to be less self-serving in the future and look closely at my past actions and see where I would have done things differently. My contempt for Chirac and Schroeder melts away considerably - the snag in my thought processes revealed and ironed out.
