I have seen just as much evidence that any warming cycle may be part of a natural variation as I have that it is caused by Americans driving Humvees. I have also noticed that a lot of the global warming literature is funneled, if you look hard enough, through a small number of sources. You'd be amazed at how many articles lean almost exclusively on the Mauna Loa data for example. Then there's the selection of timeframe on charts, manipulation of axes, and other tricks I've seen used.
Remember, even scientists have political axes to grind.
Have you noticed how many of the global warming culprits seem to fall into the same bin as those things that leftists get cranky about anyway? Big cars. Capitalism. Industry. Large-scale cattle farming.
Have you noticed how rational solutions like nuclear, hydropower, and other technological fixes don't seem to have the same appeal to global warming alarmists as their favored solution of simply crippling America's industries and economy?
I can see lots of reasons to move toward a system that does not rely so much on burning hydrocarbons to get power. But I don't accept the premise that it's just one side that has to do all the moving toward the middle and compromise on this issue.
