I have a feeling we won't have to worry about oil shortages. People have always had the freedom to choose. Let's call it human selection. If fuel is scarce and expensive, humans will select a means of locomotion that is within their budget and fits their needs. Be it an SUV, a car, or a motorbike. People will choose. Let the oil run out.
