Well in MA the wealthy summer home owning NIMBY crowd is whining mightily about Cape Wind's proposal for windmills off Hyannis harbor. Ted Kennedy (Hyannisport)and John Kerry are up in arms against this "blight on the landscape", despite the potential infusion of badly needed construction jobs at prevailing wages. The facts of the matter is that the nearest windmills will appear as < 1 degree objects on the horizon, slightly larger than the full moon. Opponents have many times circulated drawings of the wind farm that greatly exagerate its size. They get called on it, wait, and then do the same months later. Whoops! Most folks cannot think in terms of degrees in the sky.
