an average windmill by todays standards can produce maybe 2 to 4 megawatts on a good day, sustanable only if wind is available obviously. The average nuclear generator produces around 1000 to 1200 megawatts. Can you imagine over 250 windmills to recoup this energy, windmills are huge, I couldn't imagine it. By the way, windmills are notorious for numerous bird and bat deaths. Evidently evolution hasn't programmed these creature to avoid huge rotating blades in their flight-path.
