200 km per charge...

Hi Guys

Electric cars will be getting 200 km or so on the latest batteries, which suffices for most of day's driving for most of us. Tack on a little CNG fired generator and the range jumps to ~ 500 km or so. Now that's a clean hybrid. My alma mater, UQ, is developing the UltraCOmmuter which can get ~ 60 km out of 2.5 sq.m. of solar cells on a sunny day - runs a CNG generator for the rest of its 500 km range. And that's with just 15% efficient cells.
