"Look at what the Republicans have been doing. Imagine liberals doing the same thing, only with liberal judges."
If Republicans were doing anything significant they would get rid of the 9th circuit. What the republician are doing is no different than what the dems did for 40 years when they were the majority.
Now in terms of campaigning this might be a bit more obvious than what the Dems have done, but it's really a trick learned- is sense of making part of political plank [emphasizing it's importance].
Anyhow still can't imagine what this backlashs looks like.
"Keep in mind that when one party controls all the branches of government, everything wrong that happens becomes that party's fault. The pendulum will swing."
Oh this true. There is huge hole that the dems can [and some will] use in regards to big govt. The problem with dems is that on a party level they can't embrace this idea- but for dems to survive, individual dem will undoubtively run on this issue.
America is not perfect [not by any stretch of the imagination] and there are lots available room for Dems to get traction- but what required is some thought rather than repeating old solutions in vain hope that "this time, things will be different".
I think that I the dems will have a slightly larger chance of winning the '08 presidential race- practically regardless of which dem runs. Whereas probably the republicans will at least maintain both houses for some time- unless the dem leadership grows a few brain cells.
