Non-threatening

The countries who have the luxury of "interacting daily with cultures all over the world in a non-threatening and non-judgmental way." can do so because they have enjoyed the protection of other nations.

The Netherlands were conquered by the Nazis, and without some "threatening" action by the Allies it would still be a German province, and nobody in the world would know who the hell Anne Frank was.

Since WWII, countries like the Netherlands and Sweden have been quite comfortable under the U.S. nuclear umbrella.

I personally am getting very tired of nations who would now be slave states without the U.S., lecturing us on how to conduct "peaceful" foreign relations.
