So you're relating purity with conviction? In that case the intentions of Iran's leader are very likely pure if he's truly convinced that Israel needs to be blown off the map. I'm sorry but when a person runs out of compassion for their fellow man because their convictions tell them it's wrong I can't exactly call that a pure thought. I'm completely convinced that Tom's posting of that picture was more about rubbing the opposition's noses in it than his joy for the woman. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
There seems to be this respect for Tom on here that I can only assume comes from a time long before I ever begain reading and posting on this board because since I've been on here, I've seen nothing but derision from him for anyone that disagrees with his tenets (other than Mary Anne cause I think he has a "thing" for her). I've also not seen an original thought that has deviated from the current administration's talking points other than maybe a couple of posts about border control. On contrast, I've been in debates with many of the more conservative members and have found they still have threads of compassion left and can show open minds about complex issues. For that I'm very grateful.

IMHO Tom's posts are invalid by default

- has anyone mentioned here Bush's acknowledging 30,000 Civilian casualties in Iraq?
- re: has anyone mentioned that this is hardly news?
- Never mind
- Good point but
- yes those elections are very good news. Think of this though:
- I've got a better one.
- Freedom and democracy...and where would that be?
- that's not really the point here
- "Could anyone still say, 'this is worth 30,000 deaths'?"
- Get real.

- Well, they were going to die sometime anyway, so Bush isn't really responsible.
