The question of justification and individual conscience is not news either. In one way or other, every person in every society and age lives it out, and has to live with their choices.
30,000 dead as a result of this decision. How many would have died otherwise, is a 'what if' scenario. For that matter, how many have been murdered by the Syrian regime over the years? How about Saudi Arabia then?
Oh sorry - I'm just repeating leftist 'memes'. (Translation: these issues have been raised already, so are therefore invalid)
If you were consistent then you would be shouting for regime change in those countries as well. You would have my support, too. As well as a strike on Iran for that matter, if they continue on their path. But even Bush is now acknowledging the flimsy basis of this action.
If it's not about oil, then it must be about geopolitics. Hussein would have liked to be like Hitler, no doubt as a Pan Arabist. That must be a major threat to the West. I'm definitely sympathetic to that but nonetheless: you must prove there was a clear and present danger, or else you must live with your conscience.
Finally, BTW: your argument is weakened by comparisons with the Holocaust. Maybe follow your own advice from other threads, and don't get hysterical in your analogies.

OK, so it includes military casualties. And it's not new information either.

- Never mind
- Good point but
- yes those elections are very good news. Think of this though:

- Freedom and democracy...and where would that be?
- that's not really the point here
- "Could anyone still say, 'this is worth 30,000 deaths'?"
- Get real.

- Well, they were going to die sometime anyway, so Bush isn't really responsible.
