"Soft" Marxism.

I think the last hundred years of history speaks for itself as far as Marxism is concerned, and the academic example I showed here was anything but "soft." I didn't call this professor out just for advocating single-payer health care.

There is no such thing as "soft" Marxism.

Every nation in history that has called itself "Marxist" has been a totalitarian hellhole, with real democracy nowhere to be seen. What no liberal will ever admit is that this result in inherent in the very core of the philosophy. A collective state must eventually become a slave state. It can't function any other way. Hayek pointed that out sixty years ago, and it hasn't changed.

For yet one more example of this inevitable progression, go to this collection of Venezuelan blogs, and read for a while.

That some nations are trying to climb out of their hellhole doesn't change a damn thing.

After the U.S.S.R., China, Cambodia, North Korea, East Germany, Eastern Europe, Cuba, Zimbabwe and others, at some point even the infinitely nuanced brains of liberals should get a clue on this.
