Well, the activist Bill Clinton...

...got one welfare bill past a very leery Democratic congress. This bill was insufficient, but a start.

Then when Clinton was presented with an activist Republican congress, he began the process again. Of course, the bills they presented were not ones that many Democrats would vote for nor sign. Hence the vetos. When the bill was finally modified to where Clinton and the congressional Democrats could sanction it, then that bill became law.

Your view of reality only works if the Republicans had some method of forcing Clinton to sign the bill. They did not.

Conservatives have invested a lot in denying Clinton credit for this. If you guys had any integrity you would thank and praise him for it.

PS: A president with cajones uses the veto power. It is a good and useful thing.
