One minute you are spouting off about international law and the UN and then when Saddam violates his agreements you look the other way under the banner of "he was not invading another country at the time".
Which is it? Do treaties mean anything at all?
It that sort of moral vacuity that defines Europe. You rip into the US for its fast food places, renounce your US citizenship (What did your mother think of that?) all while practicing a form of "convenience morality" that allows things like Sudan, Somalia, Iraq & Iran to grow into huge unresolved problems.
This inherent belief in the "sanctity" of any given nation's present form of government is ridiculous. By such standards Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, etcetera are all off the hook "until they invade another nation".
Hitler is a good comparison with Saddam. Hitler assumed power by thuggery and maintained it by fear. So did Saddam. Hitler thumbed his nose at the international community broke with the post-war agreements Germany was bound too and eventually stopped making reparations payments altogether. Saddam thumbed his nose at the UN (The way Iraq and NK do now) and broke treaties to build weapons (just like Saddam). Hitler had a lot of apologists and boot lickers all over Europe and in the US. Charles Lindbergh first man across the Atlantic supported the Nazis and Germany and disapproved of Roosevelts "warmongering".
Why Saddam and not these other thug governments?
Easy.
Saddam shot at our US planes daily as they patrolled the UN No-fly zone. He was practically begging for an invasion, because he knew he had the French, Belgians, Germans and UN in his pocket, guilty of conspiracy and bribery to corrupt the UN oil for food program. He felt invincible - and your continued defiance of his innocence is proof of the Saddam's purchasing power. He plotted and attempted an assasination of a former US President. That's why Saddam attracted the US invasion after 9/11 - he already had it coming and was a lying, treachorous snake in bed with our "allies" plotting against us.
And you pretend the US is guilty and wrong! HA!
The European corporate giants still want their cut of Iraq's wealth and so the anti-US propaganda continues unabated in Europe and to a lesser degree, here in media interests controlled by US publishing houses.
A quick lesson for the ZONERs on media manipulation:
Look who owns your favorite "US" magazines and manipulates the editorial content!
Is it any wonder Americans not paying attention start to believe the anti-US media propaganda? Is it any wonder the Oild for Food scandal has been buried and buried deep? The power of money means, more often than not, the power to control the way people think and view things.
Your anti-US views, like tens of millions of others around the world, been bought and paid for Raoul.
Sorry to be so harsh, but when you dare to insinuate Americans should be ashamed to fly their flag, that deserves a strong response.
