Can you name any innovation that's improved life that's come from a rural area? Not likely. It may be ideologically hard to accept, but the fact is that America owes more of its place in the world to the efforts of city-dwellers than to those of country folk.
Hmmm. More condescension. Of COURSE those rubes couldn't do anything useful.
I've got a better idea. Go down the list of those who made the innovations in our history, and check out how many were raised in the country, with solid values, principles, and traditions, no matter where they ended up living later in their lives.
It's said that a person needs both roots and wings. A lot of people leave small towns for bigger things, but what they've learned where they were raised serves them well in later years.
