They are media folks cashing in. They are just the Rush Limbaughs of the left cashing in on the ebbed tide of the democrats in politics. They make more money when the tide is low. They have no true desire to do anything other than make bucks.
When Clinton was in office, conservative pundits could make the most bucks, now is the cycle where democrats like yourself are desperate & depressed and will buy every leftist book that comes off the press.
That's the real story here, the distribution of wealth in the publishing industry and the media. All the rest is just meaningless rhetoric.
Sure, the cycle will eventually reverse polarity and the left will return, and after a few years it will be possible to sell a 'conservative' book. Why do you think Anne Coulter is doing the huge book/promotion tour? Her book is totally off-season. They try their best before the 2006 election cycle but it's just not enough. You can't give copies away unless she's there signing copies and folks are forced to buy them from the bookshops where she appears. And most copies of Coulter's cash-in book are bought by media outlets who need quotes to use against her.
If President Gore were in office, she could just kick back and let the royalties checks pour in.
